Some heart diseases are actually frightened by myself
The old man went to the outpatient clinic because of intermittent chest pain and chest tightness. According to the old man, every time his chest pain was at night, he did not get significantly worse during exercise, and he could go up three floors in one breath! He didn't think it was a big deal, and he came to the hospital with the insistence of the child.
The old man didn't come in vain this time, he was definitely diagnosed with myocardial infarction. Considering that the infarction is still relatively early, I suggest that the elderly should receive coronary intervention (heart stent) as soon as possible to save the myocardial cells that will be infarcted.
The old man became very nervous after hearing this, and asked a series of questions: Did you make a mistake? What is going on with this disease? Why did I get this disease for no reason? Is it okay to take medicine? Why do you need surgery? Will it be life-threatening?
After some explanation, the elderly and family members decided to undergo surgery as soon as possible. The operation went smoothly. After the operation, his chest tightness, chest pain and other discomforts basically disappeared. The old man was very happy that he made the right decision.
But after the restraint was lifted and the old man started to murmur again: This blood vessel is supported by a small metal shelf. If it collapses suddenly, won't I be finished? And this guy made of metal is so hard, and the blood vessels are always contracting and dilating. What if it breaks the blood vessels? If there is a foreign body that is not your own body, will it cause any other problems?
Within a few days, the old man began to say that his chest area was sore, and there seemed to be something stuck against it. The ECG examination found no abnormalities. After chatting with the old man, I realized that he had so many questions in his heart.
Therefore, the doctor patiently told him that those worries are unnecessary. The stent is a memory metal, which will not be compressed and deformed in the body, and it has a good consistency with blood vessel activity. We not only talked about the principle of the stent, but I also cited many examples to reassure the elderly and told him that our hospital has long-term follow-up, and that we can come to the hospital anytime if there is a problem to reduce the risk. The old man gradually felt relieved, and the symptoms of chest tightness disappeared.
In fact, there has been a similar situation regarding the issue of "stents". An elderly woman had a good prognosis after receiving the stent, but she felt very bad because she was afraid of "the stent fell." Later, I heard that a friend who had received the same treatment had passed away, which deepened her fear and panic all day long.
Heart disease is terrible. When people mention it, they often think of death. People's ignorance of disease deepens this fear. There are many similar patients, which is the most common in my daily "double heart clinic". These people are a group of people who are passionate about life, and the emotional changes after illness stem from worry about health. Under normal circumstances, this type of patient will let go of the burden after the doubt is eliminated.
